Projects

Every successful project starts with knowing what's beneath the surface. CoreScanX specializes in non-destructive Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) concrete scanning to locate post-tension cables, reinforcing steel, electrical conduit, and other embedded elements before drilling, coring, cutting, or anchoring into concrete.

The projects below highlight recent work completed throughout Southwest Florida, demonstrating how our scanning services have supported condominium renovations, commercial construction, plumbing installations, equipment anchoring, and other projects where understanding what lies beneath the surface is critical before work begins.

Condominium Balcony Renovation – Naples, FL

CoreScanX performed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning on five condominium balconies in preparation for renovation work.

The initial scanning was completed while the balcony screens were still in place to identify the general location of embedded reinforcing elements and post-tension cables. After the screens were removed, CoreScanX returned to perform additional scanning and provide more precise markings along the slab edge, giving the contractor greater confidence when planning drilling and anchoring locations.

Sarasota Fitness Center

Fitness Center Renovation – Sarasota, FL

Prior to installing new equipment and anchors, CoreScanX used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate post-tension cables and an electrical duct bank beneath the concrete slab. The findings helped identify areas to avoid before drilling, allowing the installation to move forward with greater confidence.

Private Utility Locate – Venice, FL

CoreScanX performed a private utility locate in Venice, Florida, where multiple electrical conduits, water service, and other utilities were located around a hydro service pole and well pump.

Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), CoreScanX traced the apparent paths of the services and field-marked their locations to help the project team understand the existing underground conditions before excavation. With multiple services running through the same area, the locate provided a clearer picture of the area below grade and helped reduce the risk of encountering an unknown line during excavation.

Post-Tension Cable Layout & Marking – Estero, FL

CoreScanX performed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning to identify and mark the location of post-tension cables within the concrete slab prior to planned penetrations. The identified cables were clearly marked on the surface, providing the contractor with a visual layout to help plan safe drilling locations and avoid damaging embedded structural components.

Condominium Balcony Restoration – Palmetto, FL

CoreScanX performed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning across 32 condominium balconies spanning two buildings in Palmetto, Florida.

The scanning identified and field-marked the locations of embedded reinforcing steel and post-tension tendons within the concrete. The information provided the project team with a clearer understanding of the subsurface conditions before drilling, cutting, coring, or other concrete work associated with the balcony project.

Condominium Parking Garage – Sarasota, FL

CoreScanX performed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning within a condominium parking garage. The scan identified post-tension cables, reinforcing steel, and other embedded elements within the concrete slab, allowing the contractor to plan the work with greater confidence.

Sarasota Plumbing Renovation

Plumbing Relocation – Sarasota, FL

Before relocating an existing floor drain, CoreScanX performed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning to identify embedded post-tension cables, reinforcing steel, and utilities within the slab. The scan allowed the contractor to plan the new drain location with a clear understanding of existing structural and embedded elements before coring.
